We were left dangling on the edge of a cliff in book 1; this book picks up where the previous book left off. We continue with the developing relationship between Jamie and Kage whom we've come to love. Jamie continues to have episodes of brat behavior. There is an interesting scene between Jamie and Kage's therapist who is trying to get information on Kage's behavior. Jamie explains that it would be a violation of their trust to tell her; she explains it would be a violation of Dr/patient privilege to tell Jamie anything - and then they proceed to spill their guts. Another unusual moment comes when Jamie, with his friends, watch in Georgia, Kage's UFC match in Las Vegas. As soon as the fight is over, they turn the tv off and there is a knock at the door - it's Kage. The author had given us no previous indication of teleportation technology. But - all in all - it is a very good and engaging book. Looking forward to reading the next in the series. I read this book 4 seconds after I finished book 1.Life starts to get in the way for Jamie and Kage. But there are things that happen in this book that left me gasping and my jaw hanging open. The emotions are beyond intense. The sex scenes are sizzling. Scorching. Nuclear. Kage continues his efforts to make it in the MMA world. Jamie wraps up his internship and returns to school. They visit each other; they go back and forth, both physically and emotionally. Things happen in this book that are dark. And twisted. And so exciting (especially for Jamie). We readers are just along for the ah-mazing ride.I listened to much of this on the Audible version and the reader is TALENTED. He does 2 voices for these two main characters and he does other voices, too. But they're not over the top, not distracting. At times, I'd forget it was one reader!This book will leave you with your jaw hanging open. Be aware, you should have book 3 ready to go; you will want it immediately.
